Police have arrested a man from Richmond who is accused of shoplifting from one store and robbing another Wednesday night. Court documents say it started just after 5 p.m. at Purple Haze. 20-year-old Alexander Harvey-Ogento is accused of grabbing a bag of items and fleeing the store.

A fire displaced some people staying at a Lexington motel Wednesday night. It happened around 10 p.m. at the Day's Motel on Versailles Road. Witnesses say the smoke was so thick at the time they could hardly see the flames.

Four people were injured after two trains collided and derailed late Sunday night in Georgetown, Kentucky, officials said. A call came in at 11:14 p.m. to report the crash, Lt. Jessica Bowman, spokeswoman for the Lexington Fire Department told The Associated Press.
